more infoOur 47-54 Chevy Kit and the 48-52 Ford kit will set 3” lower than stock ride height.
Our kits are designed so the wood in the bed doesn’t have to be moved nor does the floor an need to be altered.
The kit
contains all mounting brackets for the cab, box, front sheet metal, running
boards, front & rear bumpers, engine mounts, transmission mount, hardware,
and body mount bushings.
.
Older model GM pickups did not have the rear wheel centered in the wheel fender well. They were 2” forward. Our kit centers the rear axel in the rear fender wells at 118”.
For the 47-54 Chevy, our kit uses the stock radiator
cradle or support cutting off the bottom U shape section bolting this to our
front designed horn brackets in the kit.
The 48-52 Ford kits are set up for a cross flow radiator 26”wx19”h
The 48-56 Dodge kits are set up for stock style or a cross flow radiator
26”wx19”h
The
41-46 Chevy kits are setup for a cross flow radiator 22”wx19”h
No, if you wanted to use the stock steering and pedal out of your S10 you can but you would have to make a bracket and mount yourself.
Stock manifolds from mid 90’s Chevy Caprice or
LT-1 engines so that the manifolds dump to the rear at a 30-45 degree
angle. We cannot guarantee headers to
fit, however, we have been told that the shortly or Clipster headers work.
The 4WD rear is 5” wider at a 59 ½” track width hub to hub, while the 2WD is a 54 ½” track width hub to hub. This will center the rear wheels under the fender. Using the 2WD will not allow the box to set on the mounting brackets. This would require modifying the box to set properly on the brackets. Using the 4WD rear will eliminate the need to modify the box. The S10 Blazer and GMC JIMMY rear ends will work as well.
Using the 4WD rear end allow for an 8” rim with standard back spacing on most factory or aftermarket rims. These will clear the box. Using a 10” rim will require the use of a mini tub in the box and we recommend a 4” tub.
If you are running a 7” wide rim in front then using a billit aluminum spacer of 1 1/2” wide would be recommended. A billit aluminum spacer will bolt onto the front rotor with 12MM lug nuts that are counter sunk and the studs coming out will be counter clocked.
Yes, you will have to make the factory stapes work with our brackets or make new ones. The S-10 gas tank set about 1.5” lower than what the OE tank will set.
The 2” drop spring will give you a 3” drop when running a V8, the 3” drop spring will give you a 4” drop when running a V8, and the 2” drop spindles will work with the factory metric calipers.
If you run a combo kit of 2” drop spindles and 3” drop spring this will set your front down 6”. At the front of the running board on the bottom side to the ground will set about 9”.
We offer the IDIDIT columns. If you were wanting to run a tilt with a shifter on the floor, then the 30” column is the most common length (This works nice in all the pickup kits). If you wanted a tilt with a shifter on the column then a 35” column is the most common length (Again works nicely in the pickup kits). We offer all the parts needed to mount the columns. A Non shift tilt column has a 2” column shaft and would need a column drop that is a 2” hole in the center. A shift on the column uses a 2.25” shaft and would need a 2.25” hole in the center. With the pickups, the drop is from the top of the column drop where it mounts under the dash to the center of the hole where the column comes through the mount. The only other thing needed is the column floor mount (Ensure to get the correct size for the column ordered).
We offer the 5.3 or LS engines that move the engine back to the firewall and sets off about 1”. The Grand Slam small block Chevy mounts move the engine back 1.5” off the firewall (NOTE** When using these mounts you cannot use the factory style fuel pump on the block, it must be used with an electric fuel pump on the frame rail or in the tank). The kit comes with mounts that work with a 4.3 or small block Chevy (NOTE** These mounts that come with the kit can be used with a mechanical fuel pump on the block and will set the engine about 4.5” off the firewall with a V8, the 4.3 wil set aobut 6.5” off the firewall. We do offer the small block Ford engine mounts that bolt to the S-10 frame. 250 6 cylinder mounts are also offered and bolt to the S-10 Frame.
YES! Our kit has been designed to bolt on with no welding. Other kits have some parts that are bolt on and some parts have to be welded. All of our brackets are made of 7guage steal and manufactured in the United States of America.
All the factory brackets need to be cut off and grinded down to the face of the frame. If you would like to get started on the frame before your kit comes, we can provide a free starter’s introduction sheet so you can be ready when your kit arrives.
Our tanks that we offer have a center fill neck and most use a billet door w/ cover mounted in the bed floor. Our tanks are priced competitively. We also offer a steel tank at a lower cost. Some customers have used the stock Blazer tank. Some customers choose to route the filler neck through the side of the bed box and some have hidden it in the rear fender with a flush mount door.
At this time, we only offer the complete kit.
